Features and Changes of New Income tax Website

             1. New Dashboard provides more information by categorizing the taxpayer into
  • Salaried Employees  
  • Senior Citizen 
  • Non-Resident 
  • Firm / LLP 
  • Company 
  • Business and Profession

Exhaustive resources and information relevant to the category of tax payer is being displayed like Tax Slab, Deduction Applicable, ITR Forms applicable 


 

  1. 2. Chat box is Introduced to provide answers to basic queries 

                     

              

 

  1. 3. Once logged in, Income site prompts taxpayers to complete their profile in order avail the advance features like  

  • Condonation Request 
  • Prefilled XML Download 
  • Registering Representative 

  

 


  1. 4. New and improved dashboard with better UX and experience in the new site.  
  • Outstanding Tax Demand is now displayed in the dashboard. Previously it was hidden and tax payers were not able to see it in dashboard. This is a great improvement since every time a taxpayer logs in, Outstanding tax demand is displayed and taxpayer will be more cautions towards clearing such demand 
  • Tax Deposit details is displayed in beautiful charts 
  • Other details like Recent Filed returns, pending actions is displayed upfront 

 


 

  1. 5. Various facilities provided under My Profile in the dashboard: -

  • You can now add your profile picture under my profile  
  • Option to select preferred language  
  • Option to add DEMAT Account details  
  • There is a new option called Static Password which is a numeric code and its required when you have no or low network for accessing your e-filing account.  
  • Secure Access Message (Similar to net banking login) personalized message will be displayed every time you login to the e-filing portal. Personalized message is a proof of the fact that the website where you are entering is genuine e-filing website and not a phishing website.  
  • You can also enable login through Aadhar OTP for single factor authentication. 

 


  1. 6. Graphical and Tabular view and comparison of TDS, Advance Tax, Self Assessment Tax and TCS deposits: - 

                              

                              

 

                              

  1. 7. Access your previous year filed ITR with much better visibility and clarity. You also get the option to download your Income tax return history into an excel. 

 


  1. 8. E PAN can be downloaded at free of cost with Aadhaar OTP 

 


  1. 9. Online ITR Filing for ITR 1 and ITR 4 with new and improved UX  

 

  1. 10. E M Bridge has been introduced replacing the old DSC Management utility. E M Bridge Is similar to the services provided by EM Signer in GST and MCA portal to communicate between the digital signature and the browser 


  1. 11. Assisted Filing Option displays CAs thus giving more visibility to CAs to render their professional services related to income tax
